Disney has supported military service members since our founding more than 100 years ago. Today I was honored to spend time with John Arant, a Walt Disney World Cast Member, just before he received the Purple Heart for his service in the United States Army. This solemn distinction is awarded to those like John who have been wounded while in the U.S. Armed Forces.It was a privilege to thank John for his courage, leadership and service to our country. He joined Disney through our Heroes Work Here veteran hiring initiative, and it’s an honor to count him as a Cast Member and invaluable part of the Disney team.#disneycastlife #disneysalutes

As we celebrate World Wish Day, I’m honored to be part of Disney and be a member of the Make-A-Wish America board. Working with this amazing organization for more than 40 years, Disney has had the privilege of being part of more than 155,000 wishes to children facing critical illnesses – that's more than any other organization in the world.While the number is impressive, the stories about each wish child are what matter most. That’s why, throughout the month of May, we’re extending the World Wish Day celebration byspotlighting 100 unique wishes taking place during this time at our sites around the world.Stories include a young girl named Cora, whose dream came true when she spent time with our animal keepers during a recent trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort … and even met a baby elephant with whom she shares a name (Corra).Thank you to Make-A-Wish President and CEO Leslie Motter for the tremendous work her team does.
